Improving Sexual Health and Sexual Health Literacy

Modeled after UC Davis’ Love Lab, the Bruin Love Station (BLS) is mobile cart that offers free safer-sex supplies, educational materials, campus resource information, and opportunities for students to converse with trained peers and professional staff. It is available for co-programming and participation in campus events. Feel free to request a “Sexual Health Workshop” and specify you would like to have the Bruin Love Station at your event in the comments section.

Highlights from the 2017-2018 school year include:

  • 5500+ safer sex contraceptives/supplies distributed for free to students 

  • 800+ Consent messages delivered to UCLA students

  • 350+ safer sex and healthy relationships educational materials distributed for free on topics including Abstinence & Relationships, STD Facts, Sexual Assault Prevention and Campus Resources, Identity-based Sexual Health Resource Information and more! 

  • 200+ safer sex kits distributed at community outreach and invited events

  • 40+ BLS outreach programs held across campus (including Bruin Walk, Wooden Center, Pauley Pavilion, Sunset Village)

  • 10 trained student volunteers for the newly launched BLS Peer Health Volunteer Program
