Rena is an Associate Director of SHEP. She has worked in the health promotion field for over 35 years, including the past two decades in various iterations of the SHEP unit. She earned a B.S. in the Health Sciences from Cal State University, Northridge, and an M.P.H. in Community Health Sciences from UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health. Rena facilitates the Wellness on Campus and Drug-Free Schools Committees and serves as a member on additional committees, including Healthy Campus Initiative’s “Mind Well,” Residential Life Safety and Security, International Student Wellness, and more. Currently, she co-chairs a U.C. system-wide committee of health promotion directors. Rena’s areas of SHEP work include the Life Skills course program, alcohol harm reduction education, student peer health education training, on- and off-campus professional collaborations, and general campus health promotion programming. In addition to the span of topics related to student well-being and healthy development, her interests in public health range widely and include issues related to women’s health, international health, the environment, and emotional well-being, as well as disparities in and access to health care.

Tiffani is an Associate Director of SHEP. She has worked in the public health field for over 20 years; of which, 15 have been right here at UCLA. She earned a B.S. in Psychology from UC Berkeley and an M.P.H. from San Jose State University in Community Health Science. She enjoys working with students in support of their health and wellness development. Tiffani’s areas of SHEP work include sexual health, relationships, communication, and identity, in addition to the overall success and well-being of UCLA students. She leads the Bruin Love Station which promotes sexual health on campus. In addition to directing SHEP with fellow Associate Director, Rena Orenstein, her role includes providing leadership, management and direction of co-curricular and academic initiatives that foster health, well-being, and harm reduction among UCLA students.

Kaitlin is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and a Health Educator. Like Rena, she's a homegrown public health Bruin, graduating from our very own Fielding School of Public Health with her Masters in Public Health (M.P.H.) in the department of Community Health Sciences while simultaneously completing her Dietetic Internship through the Veterans Affairs Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. She holds a B.S. in Nutrition and Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a post-baccalaureate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of New Mexico. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist. As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Kaitlin specializes in nutrition and body image, aiming to coach students toward a more holistic and positive relationship with food and their bodies. She leads The Body Project, a body-acceptance program that results in improved body image and lower incidence of eating disorders. In addition to nutrition and body image, Kaitlin is passionate about fostering the growth and development of student's life skills to become well-rounded adults, and she is dedicated to closing the food security (and basic needs) gap on this campus. She is also a Certified Lactation Educator Counselor (CLEC) and provides lactation services for students, staff, and faculty. She is a member of the California Dietetics Association and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
